A WOMAN's childhood dream of running her own salon has become a reality.
Following an extensive refurbishment of a former accountants’ office, Bon & Belle Studio, on Bradford Road, Idle, opened last week.
Owner Beth Walker spoke of her delight at the new space.
She said: “I’m loving it, we started last Tuesday and it’s been super busy.
"All of my clients are absolutely loving it too.
“We’ve got two new staff starting this week,” said Beth, talking about how the new location has allowed her business to expand.
“I’ve wanted to expand and this has given me a bit more free reign to do that.”
Beth has been in the beauty business for nearly ten years.
“I started when I was 17 and I’m 25 now, and I’ve been doing it almost 10 years," she said.
“I went self-employed when I was 17. I started off in Leeds and I’ve worked in Idle for the last four years. I have a lot of local clientele.”
Bon & Belle Studio, which was an accountants’ office for many years, was bought at auction by Greegates-based Northedge Installations.
A full refurbishment to transform it into a stylish and modern beauty salon followed.
Joe Wade, one of the directors of Northedge Installations, said: “This was a really high standard back-to-brick refurbishment, so we removed all the walls and started again.
“It was a complete refresh, both internally and externally with new signage outside.”
Beth said: “It was a friend of a friend who knew Joe. We worked together on renovating it.
"They did all of the structural work and I helped design it. I wanted a spa-like feel.
“We do hair, beauty, nails, and relaxing treatments. We do hair colouring, hair extension, and a full line of beauty treatments.
“There is a hair studio room, a hair wash room, a private beauty room for treatment and a nail studio upstairs.
“The business, Bon & Belle Studio, is named after my two dogs, Bonnie and Bella.”
The new business location is a dream come true for Beth.
“I knew from when I was a young child when I used to play with doll’s heads and do their hair that this was something that I wanted to do, she told the T&A.
“I’ve always wanted my own salon since I was a little girl.
“And Joe and his team have made that dream possible.”
