A MAN who works at a care home in Bradford has won a National Chef of the Year award.
Chris Doherty, chef at Mill Lodge Care Centre, on Moorside Place in Laisterdyke, won the National Chef of the Year at the Great British Care Awards on Friday, March 22, at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
He was nominated for the regional award for Yorkshire and Humberside in November 2023 by the care home manager Mar Bitor.
The award was presented by TV personality Rylan Clark.
A statement from the Great British Care Awards about Mr Doherty said: "The Chef Award winner, Chris exuded an unparalleled passion and enthusiasm for his role, serving as a steadfast role model who wholeheartedly believed in the power of mentoring and training.
"As a chef, he held steadfast to his commitment to delivering the utmost standards in dining and ensuring top-quality food for his residents.
"Renowned for his culinary excellence, Chris stood as a beacon of inspiration, embodying the epitome of leadership in his field."
