A BRADFORD takeaway has been told "major improvement necessary" is necessary after it was slapped with a zero food hygiene rating.
Pizza Corner, on Tong Street, was given the score following an inspection by the Food Standards Agency last month.
Conducting a visit on February 21, inspectors found improvement was needed in all three categories; hygienic food handling, the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building, and management of food safety.
"Major improvement necessary" was needed in the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building - including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities, and pest control - to enable good food hygiene
This was also the case when it came to the management of food safety at the takeaway.
This is defined as having a system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in the future.
There was "improvement necessary" regarding the hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage.
Pizza Corner did not wish to provide a comment when approached by the Telegraph & Argus.
