A GREEN space in Silsden will still be transferred to a community group, despite land next to it appearing on a list of assets Bradford Council plans to sell.
The former school playing field off Elliott Street was due to be sold to developers to fund the new Silsden Primary School.
Land off Elliott Street was recently included in a list of over 150 assets the Council said it planned to sell to balance its budget.
At a recent Council meeting, Councillor Caroline Whitaker (Green, Craven) asked for reassurance that this did not relate to the land earmarked for transfer to The Hive.
Cllr Whitaker asked: “Can the portfolio holder confirm that the land off Elliott Street included in the asset disposal plan will be only the part agreed by the Executive in October 2022, and that the Council is still intending to pursue an Asset Transfer with The Hive for most of the site?”
The response said: “The Executive decision made in 2022 committed to transferring the majority of the land to The Hive with a strip along Taylor Avenue developed for housing.
“The intention very much remains as per the Executive decision in October 2022.”
