MORE than 350 vehicles had their speed checked in a crackdown on speeding in Bradford.
A speed watch was carried out in Wyke ward on Tuesday and officers clocked 44 vehicles (13 per cent) of 353 vehicles speeding between 35mph and 40mph.
A spokesperson for the Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said: "Tonight officers from Bradford South NPT Team 2 have carried out high visibility speed watches at locations in the Wyke ward that have been highlighted as a concern for speeding.
"The locations were Markfield Avenue, New Works Road, Brighouse Road, and Huddersfield Road.
"Over a three-hour period between 4pm and 7pm a total of 353 vehicles had their speed checked, 44 (13 per cent) of these vehicles were found to be speeding between 35 and 40 mph.
"All these vehicles had their registration numbers taken and will be contacted by letter to advise and educate them.
"We will be continuing to conduct these speed watches sporadically at locations requested by you over the coming weeks.
"Thanks for your support as always, it's appreciated and we cannot do the job we do without it."
