PLANS to build a new housing development on rural land in the Queensbury area have been revealed.
A planning application for 10 homes on former grazing land in the Mountain area of Queensbury have been submitted to Bradford Council by Harris & Whitehead.
The development would be built off Old Guy Road if the application is approved.
The application says: “Our brief is to provide much-needed affordable housing that will meet the requirements of local people. A mix of four and five bedroom homes are to be provided.
“The site is ideally positioned on the outer edges of the town, with good access to the surrounding countryside. It also benefits from the close proximity of a number of publicly accessible amenity spaces.
“The scale of the proposal is believed to provide the requirements needed for a functional modern family home without compromising the character and quality of the surrounding area.”
Since the application was submitted, Council greenspace officers have raised concerns that the application: “Makes no reference to the site in relation to its current designation of Greenbelt or lying within an area of Mixed Upland Pasture.”
A decision on the application is expected in June.
