TWO more people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault outside a pub.
West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a serious assault outside The Marsh pub, in Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, just after 7pm on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the force said a man in his 40s was injured and rushed to hospital where he was fighting for his life.
In an update today, West Yorkshire Police said the injured man remains in hospital in a "serious condition".
Three people were initially arrested in connection with the investigation.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed a further two arrests have been made.
A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "Five people have now been arrested in connection with an investigation into a serious assault outside a public house in Cleckheaton.
"Three remain in custody with two released on bail.
"The injured man remains in hospital in a serious condition."
The Telegraph & Argus visited the scene yesterday and saw a police cordon in place, which was there for the whole morning, with multiple officers and force vehicles also at the scene.
Councillors "condemned" the attack, while residents spoke of a usually quiet area, with one saying the situation was "absolutely devastating".
