THERE are delays on the M62 this morning following a crash. 

One lane was shut on the eastbound carriageway, near Ainley Top, Huddersfield, causing rush hour disruption for drivers.

Early traffic alerts reported "slow traffic and one lane closed due to accident on M62 Eastbound at Junction 24 A629 (Ainley Top). Lane three (of three) is closed".

As this photograph shows, there are long queues of traffic on the motorway while the incident is dealt with. 

A more recent traffic alert reported all lanes are re-opened.

The traffic alert said: "Queueing traffic due to accident, now on the hard shoulder on M62 Eastbound at Junction 24 A629 (Ainley Top).

"All lanes have been re-opened. Road has re-opened after traffic was stopped for around ten minutes."

The West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the collision was damage only.
