POLICE visited a Morrisons to engage with staff and shoppers during a week of action.
Officers attended the supermarket in Heckmondwike on Tuesday.
It comes as they conduct various patrols across the area to monitor retail crime.
PCSO Dyson said: “As part of our day-to-day partnership patrols we work closely with retail outlets across the town, liaising with staff and security and being that visible presence for shoppers.
“Retail crime affects everyone, and without doubt contributes to rising costs.”
A spokesperson for the force added: "Patrols and other retail crime prevention activities are planned throughout the week.
"If you have any information regarding those involved in this type of crime, please contact West Yorkshire Police via 101.
"Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers."
