CALLS have been made for Bradford Council to work with organisers of a music festival to look at how the event can be held in 2025.
Last month, the Telegraph & Argus reported that a decision on Bingley Festival this year had "not yet been made".
Names such as Calvin Harris, Chic, Kaiser Chiefs, and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have graced the stage in the past.
The event has run under various guises over the years.
Bingley Music Live was run by Bradford Council, but there was dismay when it was cancelled in 2019.
It came after the 2018 event ran at a loss - going £300,000 over budget.
The festival then evolved into Bingley Weekender and later, Bingley Festival.
The last three events have been held at Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club - with a crowd of 17,000 braving the rainy conditions in 2023.
In a written question ahead of a full meeting of Bradford Council, Councillor Marcus Dearden (Lab, Bingley) has asked if the council will "commit to working with local councillors and the event organisers to look at options for how the event can be held again as part of our UK City of Culture year in 2025?".
An answer will be provided at the full council meeting, which will be held in City Hall from 4pm today.
