A WEST Yorkshire Police student officer has appeared in court charged with misconduct in a public office.
PC Caitlin Howarth, 24, based in the Bradford district, appeared at York Magistrates' Court yesterday.
According to the charge, PC Howarth allegedly "disclosed evidence and case information held by West Yorkshire Police with a person you knew to be linked to a convicted criminal" between October 5 and October 10, 2021.
PC Howarth did not enter a plea when she appeared before magistrates.
The case was sent to York Crown Court on April 2.
PC Howarth was released on unconditional bail.
She is currently suspended from duty, according to West Yorkshire Police.
