AN arrest was made in Bradford following reports of a man carrying an axe.
Armed officers swooped on the city centre on Thursday afternoon.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the force had received "a number of reports from 2.14pm of a male in Bradford city centre carrying an axe".
The spokesperson added: "Armed officers attended and a short time later a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
"He is currently in police custody."
