POLICE conducted an operation to tackle speeding vehicles near a school and a recent spate of burglaries.
West Yorkshire Police officers were positioned on West End/Russell Road in Queensbury for the Speedwatch on Wednesday evening.
The force said they had reports from residents and staff that the vehicles "posed a safety risk to children".
Queensbury Ward Sergeant PS Amirat said: "We received information from local residents and staff at nearby schools raising concerns of vehicles speeding through the village and posing a safety risk to children and members of the public.
"Public safety is our top priority and we will continue such initiatives to deter speeding drivers.
"During such operations, we routinely have constables in the area to stop vehicles and take appropriate action.
"Officers are also carrying out proactive patrols in the area during the night following a recent spate of burglaries in the village."
A post on the West Yorkshire Police - Bradford South Facebook page added: "The local Queensbury PCSOs have again this evening been conducting a Speedwatch operation on West End/Russell Road following further reports of speeding vehicles in the area.
"Safety concerns have also been raised by nearby schools and we have followed this up with immediate action."
