AN overgrown and fly-tipped plot of land in Bradford city centre could be redeveloped if new plans are approved.
The site at Paradise Street has been empty for years, but a new planning application could see it redeveloped with five industrial units.
The development would create 420 square metres of industrial space on the city centre site, which sits between a temple and industrial units and garages and is in the Goitside Conservation Area of the city.
The plans have been submitted by Mohammed Saeed.
The site is also just yards from one of the planned “City Village” residential development locations that will see houses build on underused car parks near Paradise Street.
The planning application describes the site as “disused overgrown land” – and when the Telegraph and Argus visited Paradise Street on Tuesday, fencing around the land had been pulled down and the site was strewn with fly-tipping.
The application says: “It was proposed by our client to construct five light industrial/warehouse units on the vacant land.
“Every effort has been made in the design of the extension to match and complement the host building and the other buildings in the surrounding conservation area.”
A decision on the application is expected in April.
