A LEEDS Road shop could be refurbished and divided into smaller retail units if new plans are approved.
Located on the Thornbury side of the busy Bradford street,1043 Leeds Road is currently a large interiors store.
A new planning application submitted to Bradford Council by Shah Nawaz calls for the single unit to be split into three smaller shops.
Two units would face onto Leeds Road and the third would face onto Woodhall Road.
New windows would also be created on the first floor.
Last year, a planning application to subdivide the shop and build five flats on the first floor were refused by Bradford Council.
Officers had raised concerns about the height of the first floor flats, saying: ββThe proposal would result in substandard living conditions for existing and future occupants.β
A decision on the new application will be made later this month.
