TWO people were injured in a serious car crash this afternoon, which closed a road and prompted a huge response from the emergency services.
The A65 Addingham Bypass was shut due to the two-vehicle crash shortly after 2.30pm today.
The road was closed in both directions.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 2:33pm today to reports of a two vehicle collision on the A65 at Addingham.
"Two people have been taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.
"The road is currently closed."
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) said: "We received an emergency call at 2.33pm on Friday to a report of a collision between two vehicles on the Addingham Bypass.
"A number of ambulance resources were dispatched to the scene and two patients were taken to hospital - one to Airedale Hospital and one to Leeds General Infirmary."
YAS confirmed that the response included two air ambulances, two ambulances, and two rapid response vehicles.
