A BUNDLE of beautiful babies was born at Bradford Royal Infirmary’s maternity unit this Leap Year.
February 29 is one of the rarest birthdays, only taking place every four years unless it falls on a century year that cannot be divided by four.
It only comes every 1,461 days – and babies born on this day are usually referred to as leaplings or leapers.
Among 2024’s Leap Year babies was Louis Teasdale.
Proud parents Danielle and Edward Teasdale, of Idle, Bradford were expecting Louis to arrive a few days later.
But he was born at 4.16pm, weighing in at 7lbs 10oz.
Danielle said: “He was meant to arrive in early March but I ended up with a C-section so he was born on February 29, making him a leap year baby.
“Until the next leap year, we now plan to celebrate his birthday on March 1 so he doesn’t miss out.
“We can’t wait to take him home and introduce him to his big brother, Harry, who is 19 months.”
Samuel Edward Subair arrived at 2.30pm, weighing 7lbs 2oz.
It makes mum Temitope and dad Kehinde a complete family.
“We were hoping he might arrive on March 1 but he didn’t," said Temitope.
“Going forward though, this will be his birthday until the next February 29 comes around.”
And adorable Addison Sue Wood was also born at Bradford Royal Infirmary at 12.38am
She weighed 5lb 5oz.
