A BRADFORD fish and chip shop worker missed out on being named Employee of the Year at a national awards ceremony.
Joanne Newman, of Towngate Fisheries in Idle, made the top four list in the category at the 2024 National Fish and Chips Awards.
She beat many applicants nationwide to reach the top four.
The judging panel inspected the nominees’ industry knowledge, work ethic, customer service skills, and more.
Jamie Toland, from Taylors in Stockport, clinched the top spot when the awards were given out at a ceremony in London earlier this week.
A post on the Towngate Fisheries, Idle Facebook page said: "We had a great day at the National Fish & Chip Awards.
"Unfortunately Joanne didn’t win the employee of the year category (congratulations to Jamie Toland from Taylors in Stockport) but Joanne will always be a winner to us."
