A MAN has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in a West Yorkshire town.
Cole Brooke, 20, of Manor Street, Huddersfield, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following the incident which took place on Dunford Street in Holmfirth town centre on Friday, February 16.
He appeared before magistrates on Saturday and has been remanded into custody until March 22 when he is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court.
Six other males who were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old male from the Huddersfield area, has been arrested and taken into custody.
Specialist officers have been conducting enquiries in the Meltham, Huddersfield and Holmfirth areas following the incident and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information.
Senior Investigation Officer Chief Inspector Matt Holdsworth of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) said: “We are still investigating the wider circumstances surrounding this firearms discharge and would therefore continue to appeal to people to come forward with any information or footage they may have in connection with it.”
