A POLICE box will disappear after plans to replace it with a new house were approved.
The former police hub on Harrogate Road, Eccleshill, has been empty for years, and is a tiny building that consisted of a small office for police, staff room and toilet.
A planning application to demolish the building and build a three bedroom detached house was submitted to Bradford Council by John Middleton last year.
The plans have now been approved.
Planning officers said: “The site occupies a relatively sustainable location within an established residential area, where shops and services are accessible on foot or public transport.
“The Council's Housing land position is well-known: There is an under-provision of land for housing across the District and an inability to demonstrate a 5-year supply.
“Although the site was a little overgrown at the time of the site visit, there is no evidence to suggest that protected species may be present on the site.”
