A BAG snatcher who robbed two women on the same day and then used their stolen bank cards in various Bradford shops has been told he can expect a “substantial” prison sentence.
Marek Rigo faced charges of robbery, fraud by false representation, theft from a shop, as well as grievous bodily harm against one of his victims when he appeared before Bradford Crown Court via video link from HMP Leeds.
The court heard that on January 22 this year Rigo, 29, of Heidelberg Road, Bradford, robbed two women in the Victoria Shopping Centre, Girlington, Thornton Road and took their bags containing mobile phones, bank cards, cash, house keys, a driving licence, and other personal items.
One of the women was injured as she was robbed.
Rigo then used the bank cards at four different shops to buy goods and stole chocolates from a supermarket.
Speaking through a Slovak interpreter Rigo pleaded guilty to all offences.
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on April 10.
His Honour Judge Jonathan Rose told Rigo: “You will understand that you will receive a substantial prison sentence for these very serious offences.”
