VALLEY Parade is set for a record-breaking attendance tonight, with Bradford City only one game away from a Wembley final.

A crowd of more than 6,000 is expected at the home of the Bantams - a record for a Bristol Street Motors Trophy tie at the stadium - for the semi-final against Wycombe Wanderers.

City earned their place in the last four with hard-fought wins over the likes of League One pair Barnsley and Derby County.

The club confirmed to the Telegraph & Argus that more than 6,000 tickets had been sold as of Tuesday afternoon.

A win would see City return to the home of English football for the first time since the heartbreaking playoff defeat at the hands of Millwall in 2017.

Excitement is building at that prospect, with fans hopeful for at least one visit seven years later.

Humayun Islam, founder of Inspire Support Sports Empower (ISSE) and a huge City supporter, is optimistic about his team's chances.

"I really hope we get a result," he said.

"This cup run has given us that belief and positivity.

"It would be brilliant for the club and the city if we reached the final.

"You just never know in a cup competition. It has been a while since we last reached Wembley.

"It would be great to get down to Wembley, stay over the night before, and make a real day of it."

Long-time Valley Parade season ticket holder Philip Davies, Conservative MP for Shipley, also feels it could be time for another trip to the capital.

He added: "It will be a tremendous achievement if City can make it to Wembley, and the fantastic fan base at the club would thoroughly deserve it.

"Obviously it will be a tough game with Wycombe being in the league above, but City are more than capable of winning if on song, and confidence should be high as they are on a good winning run.

"Unfortunately I can't be there as I have to be down in Parliament but my sons will be there to cheer them on, and let's all hope we can have another fantastic day out at Wembley."
