Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) told the Telegraph & Argus yesterday (February 18) that one person was rushed to hospital after a car collided with the street furniture in Old Park Road, in Idle, at 10.30pm on Saturday evening.
The crash happened at a mini-roundabout near Springdale Crescent and debris from the vehicle could be seen on Sunday morning.
There were also several skid marks on the grassed area of the mini-roundabout, where the lamppost was located.
West Yorkshire Police revealed today that the driver was asked to stop by officers but failed to do so, prior to crashing into the lamppost.

Police released them under investigation pending further enquiries for a number of driving offences.
