POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a shooting incident in a West Yorkshire town.
West Yorkshire Police said the firearms discharge happened on Dunford Road, Holmfirth, close to the junction with South Lane, at around 9.50pm on Friday.
One male has been arrested and taken into custody in connection with the incident, the force said this afternoon.
Police are continuing their inquiries into the incident and its cause and are appealing for the public’s help.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson said: “I’d like to reassure people that this was an isolated and targeted incident and that there is no wider threat to the public.
“I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at that time or who may have video footage of the incident, or circumstances leading up to it, to please come forward.”
