A MAN has been ordered to pay a fine after he damaged a police van at Leeds Bradford Airport.

Connor White, 29, was charged with causing criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.

According to court documents, the incident happened at the airport on June 23 last year.

He damaged a Ford Transit Van belonging to West Yorkshire Police “intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged”.

He was convicted on August 3 last year and sentenced on January 30.

White, of Cargo Close, Blyth, Northumberland, was fined £100 and was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £40. The total needed to be paid by February 13.

His guilty plea was taken into consideration in sentencing. 

A charge of entering an aircraft when drunk/being drunk in an aircraft was dismissed, court documents state.
