TACKLING illegal parking, anti-social behaviour and drug dealing have been identified as key priorities for police in an area of Bradford.

The Bradford West Neighbourhood Police Team (NPT) priorities for different ward areas within the constituency were recently reviewed.

Here’s a look at the key issues

Outer City

“Address ongoing anti-social behaviour on Grantham Road, working with partner agencies to deal positively with the misuse of drugs, parking-related problems and the anti-social use of motor vehicles.

“Target residents' concerns around anti-social behaviour on and around Aberdeen Place as well as the surrounding streets, working with the community, local businesses and partner agencies to address these issues along with Bradford South NPT

Manningham 

Address and deal positively with the anti-social use of motor vehicles including the illegal parking of motor vehicles throughout the Manningham ward area, paying specific attention to Manningham Lane and surrounding streets.

“Target residents' concerns around anti-social behaviour on Priestman Street and the surrounding streets, working with the community. local businesses and partner agencies to address these issues.

“To identify and deal appropriately with offences of begging and vagrancy throughout the Manningham Ward area, particularly at the traffic lights on Oak Lane and Manningham Lane

 

Toller

“Address concerns raised regarding standards of driving within the ward area, as raised at community meetings. 

“Work with the community and partners to tackle drug dealing and ASB in lower Girlington and Scotchman Road areas (as raised by residents and businesses).”

Clayton, Fairweather Green and Lower Grange

"Deal with speeding motorists in Clayton, particularly along The Avenue, Bradford Road and Pasture Lane.

"Police officers and PCSOs will conduct routine speed watch operations, along with proactive patrols and days of action with officers from the Steerside and traffic department.

"Continue to target off-road bikes and e-scooters being used in public places and on the roads of Clayton.

"Work is ongoing with partner agencies to address the anti-social behaviour; motorbikes will be seized and those who ride them illegally will be dealt with under S.59 (anti-social use of vehicles) and relevant road traffic legislation.

"Detect and deter acquisitive crime such as burglary, theft from motor vehicles and shed break-ins.

"Reports will be thoroughly investigated and those found to be responsible will be located and arrested. Proactive, overt, and covert officers will be deployed in the area."

Thornton and Allerton

"Target those causing anti-social behaviour in the area of Kenilworth House, and make the area feel safe for everyone to use.

"Deal with off-road bikes being used in public spaces and on the roads of Thornton, work is ongoing with partner agencies to address the anti-social behaviour, Motorbikes will be seized and those who ride them -illegally will be dealt with under S.59 (anti-social use of vehicles) and relevant road traffic legislation.

"Detect and deter acquisitive crime such as burglary, theft from motor vehicles and shed break ins. Reports will be thoroughly investigated and those found to be responsible will be located and arrested.

"Proactively target organised drug dealing and criminality in the area, acting upon community intelligence in a timely manner."
