ONE driver was clocked at travelling at 50mph in a 30mph speed zone by a police patrol this week.
Police officers from the Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out Operation SPARC, a road traffic operation designed at tackling 'Fatal 5' offences.
A spokesperson for the Leeds North West NPT said: "On Wednesday, colleagues from the Roads Policing Unit were patrolling Pool, Otley, Guiseley, Horsforth and Kirkstall as part of Operation SPARC.
The officers were tasked with detecting offences that make up the 'Fatal 5' (speeding, non-usage of seatbelts, distractions, intoxication and careless driving).
Results included: Four speeding tickets (including one at 50mph in a 30mph zone), three tickets for dangerous parts/vehicle in unsafe condition, two tickets for not wearing a seatbelt, one ticket for driving without due care and attention, one ticket for driving with an expired MOT and one vehicle seized for driving with no tax.
