A total of 24 taxis and private hire vehicles were checked during the multi-agency inspection at Leeds Bradford Airport on Thursday.
A spokesperson for the Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Yesterday morning, NPT Officers worked alongside representatives from Leeds City Council's Taxi and Private Hire Licensing department to conduct checks of vehicles dropping off and collecting customers at Leeds Bradford Airport.
"Twenty-four vehicles were inspected, with two receiving immediate suspensions for major defects and two given rectification notices for minor defects.
"We will continue to arrange these multi-agency operations to ensure the safety of those using our roads."
