THE air ambulance was deployed and four people were rushed to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash at a busy junction today.
The collision happened at the where New North Road and Leeds Road, in Heckmondwike meet just after 3pm this afternoon.
It reportedly involved a number of cars and a motorbike.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) sent four ambulances to the scene, as well as calling for the air ambulance helicopter to go to the crash.
Two people were taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), while another two were transported to Dewsbury Hospital - all travelled in ambulances.
A full statement from YAS said: "We received an emergency call at 3.03pm today (Friday) to a report of a multiple-vehicle collision at the junction of New North Road and Leeds Road in Heckmondwike.
"A number of ambulance resources, including four ambulances and one air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene.
"Two patients were conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary and two patients were conveyed to Dewsbury Hospital. All went by road."
