AN under construction industrial estate will include one unit that will be used to train the next generation of engineers.
Providence Park in Keighley town centre is a development of seven modern industrial units on the former Universal Mills site, at the junction of Bradford Road and Dalton Lane.
Part of the site will be used by Keighley College as a Manufacturing, Engineering and Future technologies Hub.
The development has received funding through the Government’s Keighley Towns Fund, and members of Bradford Council were given an update on this and other projects at a meeting this week.
The hub will receive £3m in Towns Fund cash.
Members were told that the hub unit should be completed by October.
The centre will be used to provide students with academic and practical experience, and achieve T level qualifications.
It is hoped local businesses will link up with the hub to provide apprenticeships.
