DRIVERS faced long delays on the M62 this afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash.
Traffic was temporarily stopped on the westbound stretch of the motorway within junction 23, for Huddersfield, due to the collision.
Shortly before 2pm, a National Highways spokesperson said: "Traffic has been stopped on the M62 westbound in West Yorkshire within junction 23 (Huddersfield) due to a multi-vehicle collision.
"Our traffic officers are on scene and we'll move vehicles onto the hard shoulder if possible.
"There's a 45 minute delay on approach."
The spokesperson said shortly afterwards: "This scene is clear and all lanes have reopened.
"An hour delay remains in the area but this should now start to ease.
"Thanks for your patience this afternoon."
Travel monitoring site Inrix earlier reported "long delays" with congestion to just before junction 25, for Brighouse.
