A BRADFORD district school has "suspended normal school uniform" due to today's forecast of heavy snow.
Snow has already begun to fall across the district and the Met Office has issued an amber weather warning, which is in place from 12pm to 6pm.
There is a possibility that some rural communities may become cut off. There could also be cuts to power and other services such as mobile phone coverage, as well as travel delays.
Bingley Grammar School is allowing students to "dress appropriately" for the conditions.
A post on X, formerly Twitter, said: "Due to the heavy snow forecast for this afternoon (Thursday, February 8), we have suspended the normal school uniform to allow students to dress appropriately to allow them to get home in snowy conditions if needed.
"At present, the school remains open due to the late start of the potential snowfall.
"We appreciate that conditions where you live may not reflect the conditions here at school and understand that families may need to make decisions based on their location."
