POLICE have said the death of a teenage boy in the Bradford district four months ago is still being treated as "unexplained".

Emergency services attended Westgate in Baildon at around 7.30am on October 5.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said officers were called by the ambulance service to a medical emergency involving a 16-year-old male.

At the time, the spokesperson said: "The 16-year-old was taken to hospital where he sadly passed away.

"His death is being treated as unexplained at this time.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

A force spokesperson told the Telegraph & Argus that his death was "still being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing".

The teenager was named locally as Saafi.

"It is always tragic to hear of the death of someone so young."

The statement, released on the Baildon school's website, added: "Saafi was a polite young man with a big personality and warm smile.
