POLICE are treating a building fire on a major road in Bradford as arson.
Firefighters were called to the incident on Beckside Road, Lidget Green, shortly after 11am yesterday.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said today: "A crime of arson has been recorded at that location and police are investigating.
"Anyone who has any information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting crime reference 13240067190."
Footage showed smoke billowing into the sky as the fire burned.
"I smelled lots of smoke and came out of the shop and saw the fire," said a shop worker yesterday.
"The firefighters and police soon arrived.
"It was all pretty dramatic.
"Hopefully, nobody's been injured."
A resident said: "I saw the smoke and the firefighters earlier.
"I just hope nobody was inside the building at the time."
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "No-one was injured.
"We used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze."
