A Bradford man is facing a prison sentence for his part in a hammer and acid attack on a man in his own home.

Louis Titre had denied driving with another man to a house in Burneston Gardens in Buttershaw on November 5, 2022, where they attacked a man with a hammer and threw acid in his face.

However a jury at Bradford Crown Court found him guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Titre, 28, of Lime Vale Way in Buttershaw, will be sentenced at a later date.

His Honour Judge Jonathan Rose warned he could expect to serve up to five years in prison.

Titre was found not guilty of attempted murder in relation to a shooting at ADR Convenience Store on Torre Road on November 11, 2022, when a 30-year-old man was blasted in the face with a shotgun and seriously injured.

The court heard that the shop was used for drug-dealing and money laundering.

During Titre’s trial the court heard that two men drove to the address in Burneston Gardens in a silver Peugeot 208 and went inside. Their arrival was captured on CCTV.

The two-minute attack involving a hammer and liquid in bottles was reported to police in a graphic 999 call, played in court, in which an operator urged the victim to get into the shower to rinse acid off his face with cool water until an ambulance arrived.

He could be heard moaning in the background, complaining of acid in his face, and that he had difficulty breathing. He had also suffered injuries to his ribs and back.

Titre, who appeared in the dock wearing a white shirt, black tie, and black trousers, had denied having anything to do with the acid attack, which he said was carried out by another man and someone known only as “Nicky”.

Much of the evidence heard in court focused on mobile phone data and where Mr Titre was on the dates in question.

In relation to the acid attack, Titre said he did not take part because at the time he was at his grandmother’s house where he hoped to borrow money to buy cannabis.
