POLICE gave out eight speeding tickets and busted one person for driving without due care and attention in a roads policing operation.
The operation was carried out in the Guiseley, Yeadon, Rawdon, Horsforth and Otley areas.
A spokesperson for the Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Yesterday (Wednesday), we were supported by colleagues from the Roads Policing Unit as part of Operation SPARC.
“Officers were patrolling Guiseley, Yeadon, Rawdon, Horsforth and Otley looking for any drivers committing offences that make up the 'Fatal 5' which are speeding, intoxication, no seatbelt, distraction (such as handheld devices) and careless driving.
Results from yesterday's deployment included: Eight speeding tickets, two tickets for not wearing a seatbelt, one ticket for using a handheld device whilst driving, one ticket for driving without due care and attention, one ticket for a non-conforming vehicle registration mark, and two tickets issued for incorrectly registered vehicles.
