A DRIVER suffered head injuries and a broken arm after crashing into a wall following a police chase.
Officers in a marked police vehicle saw a car in the Halifax Road area of Shelf during the early hours of Monday.
The car initially stopped but then made off - before a police pursuit ensued.
The car subsequently crashed into a wall further along Halifax Road and came to a stop.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital with a broken arm and head injuries.
Police have not released details of any arrests in connection with the incident.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At 12:53am on Monday, officers in a marked police vehicle sighted a car in the Halifax Road area of Shelf, which initially stopped before making off.
"A pursuit ensued and the vehicle came to a stop further on Halifax Road where it was in collision with a wall.
"The driver of the vehicle suffered a broken arm and head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment."
