A PRIMARY school is celebrating a 'good' Ofsted report.
Birstall Primary Academy, on Chapel Lane, received the second-best rating from the education watchdog for the third consecutive time last month.
Following an inspection in November 2023, inspectors said: “Pupils are happy here and respond well to the high expectations that are set for them.”
The report praised the school's warmth, sense of community, and the wider opportunities it offers to all children.
Inspectors said pupils "learn their voice matters and that they can make a positive difference in school and in the wider community".
Nadia Hannam, principal at Birstall Primary Academy, said: “The inspectors seemed to understand the very essence of our school and its community.
“We are a small school with a big heart in the very centre of Birstall.
"The report is a real testament to the commitment of the entire school community in the last five years.
“None of us could have predicted the pandemic and how much schools had to navigate and change in that time.
"We are delighted that pupils, staff, parents and governors worked closely together to ensure that the progress and achievements of our pupils went from strength to strength.”
