BRADFORD Council is planning to introduce 20mph zones on streets in the Shipley constituency (Bingley & Rural Ward).

The speed restrictions will affect the following lengths of road:

* George Street, whole length;

* Mary Street, whole length;

* Minorca Mount, whole length;

* Valley Heights, whole length

The order comes into force on March 4. A copy of the order, together with a map showing the affected roads, may be examined during office hours at the Customer Services Reception, City Hall, Bradford, online at bradford.gov.uk/transport-and-travel/highways/traffic-calming-and-pedestrian-crossings or from Shadid Aziz, Engineer - Traffic & Road Safety South, Planning, Transportation & Highways by emailing shahid.aziz@bradford.gov.uk. Anyone wishing to question the order has within six weeks from the date it was made (January 18) 2024 apply to the High Court.

These temporary road closures have also been announced 

* Back Lane, Clayton Heights, for gas works to be carried out.

The order will affect Back Lane from its junction with Highgate Road to its junction with Julian Drive. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for traffic are available via Back Lane (unaffected section), Baldwin Lane, Highgate Road and vice versa. The order remains in force until 6pm on February 2.

* East Parade, Little Germany, Bradford, for water works to be carried out. The order will affect the length of East Parade from a point outside No 27 East Parade to its junction with Peckover Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative traffic routes will be available via East Parade (unaffected section), Leeds Road, Shipley Airedale Road, Peckover Street and vice versa. The order comes into effect at 8am on January 29 until 6pm on January 31.

* Coplowe Lane, Wilsden, for construction works to be carried out. The order will affect Coplowe Lane from its junction with Cross Lane to its junction with Shay Lane. Alternative traffic routes will be available via Cross Lane, Lee Lane, Cottingley Road, Wilsden Road, Haworth Road, Main Street, Crack Lane and vice versa. The order will come into effect at today until January 26, from 9.30am-2.40pm each day.

* Footpath NO.1 and NO.114 in Saltaire, for water works to be carried out. The order will affect Footpath No.1 and No.114 from its junction with Shipley 1 at the junction of the Towpath to the entrance to the Boat Inn. No alternative routes available. The order lasts until 6pm on February 9.
