ARMED police rushed out after a dog attacked and killed sheep on farmland in the Bradford district.
Officers were alerted to the incident shortly before 8.30am today.
They were told a dog had attacked sheep on farmland at Roper Lane, Queensbury.
Three sheep died from their injuries, according to police.
Police resources - including armed officers - were sent to the scene.
The dog - which police described as "large and brown" - has not yet been found.
A resident described the incident as a "horror".
Distressing pictures and video circulating on social media show the attacked sheep.
Officers at West Yorkshire Police are investigating and appealed for the public to come forward with any information.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At 8.21am today, police were called about a dog attacking sheep on farmland at Roper Lane, Queensbury.
"Police resources were deployed including armed officers.
"Three sheep have died from their injuries.
"The large, brown dog was not located.
"Enquiries are ongoing by Bradford district officers.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the dog in the area is asked to contact police via 101 or use the live chat facility at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/contactus, quoting log 327 of January 13."
