Police made a shocking discovery after stopping a driver in part of Bradford.
West Yorkshire Police stopped the motorist on Westgate Hill Street to check a van’s insurance details.
The van had showed up as having no insurance, the Bradford South NPT said.
This turned out to be a clerical error by the insurance company, but that wasn’t the end of officers’ checks.
The driver was found to be disqualified.
“Not sure the insurance policy will have much value now anyway,” a police spokesperson said.
It was part of work by the Steerside Enforcement team, who travel in cars and on bikes across Bradford district seven days a week.
Operation Steerside was launched in 2016 specifically to tackle dangerous and anti-social driving in Bradford and evolved two years later into a multi-agency partnership to work proactively on illegal use of the roads.
