ONE adult and one child had to flee to from a burning home in Bradford today (Saturday).
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene of a fire on an end terraced house on Rook Lane, Bradford, which was reported at 12.04pm today.
The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that the fire was on the first floor of the home and the building was 50 per cent involved in fire.
Firefighters had to use six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation fans to battle the blaze.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "One adult and one child self-rescued from property suffering from smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital by ambulance."
The spokesperson added: "No smoke detectors were fitted in the property."
Engines from Odsal, Bradford, Shipley and Leeds fire stations were all called to the scene.
