A second man has today pleaded guilty to charges arising out of a firearm incident in the Fagley area of Bradford last summer.
Tommy Lee Lupton, 21, had been due to go on trial this week at Bradford Crown Court over his alleged involvement in the incident in Farleton Drive, Fagley, last July, but before a jury was formally sworn in he entered guilty pleas to two offences.
Lupton admitted possessing a shotgun with intent to endanger life and wounding a man with intent to do him grievous bodily.
At the time, the Telegraph & Argus reported how the incident had caused panic on the street.
Residents reported hearing "screams and shouts" as the horror unfolded.
Last year Lupton, of no fixed abode, and 32-year-old Nathan Scott, of Sandholme Drive, Bradford, were arrested and charged after two men were found with injuries on July 7.
Back in September Scott also pleaded guilty to possession of the shotgun with intent to endanger life and two charges of wounding.
After Lupton admitted the charges today Judge Jonathan Rose said the two defendants would have to be sentenced together and they would be brought to court on March 28.
The judge ordered “dangerousness” assessments by the probation service for both men and the court heard that the sentence hearing could take up to two hours.
Both defendants are currently remanded in custody.
The incident prompted concern among residents at the time.
One resident, who did not wish to be named, told the T&A: "I heard some screams and shouts and that's when the police came.
"This area is usually pretty quiet.
"It's not nice, especially as it happened in the daylight."
Another local resident said: "I heard sirens getting closer and then the police and ambulance service turned up.
"They cordoned off the road.
"It's a bit scary especially when children are about.
"I've lived here all my life and it's usually pretty quiet around here."
At the time, a police spokesperson released a statement which said: "West Yorkshire Police was called to Farleton Drive, in Fagley at 5.10pm on Friday.
"They found two men there who had injuries to their bodies that were consistent with a firearm being discharged.
"Both were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.
