FRESH appeals have been launched for information about a pensioner who has been missing for more than six years.

Cathryn Holdsworth was aged 72 when she disappeared from Illingworth, Calderdale, in 2017.

She also has links to Brighouse, where she lived for a number of years.

This week, in a bid to keep Ms Holdsworth's disappearance in the public eye, Halifax Labour MP Holly Lynch has again urged anyone with information about where she may be to contact police.

West Yorkshire Police has also issued a new appeal in the ongoing search for her.

Extensive investigations - but no answers

Ms Holdsworth, who lived alone in Illingworth, almost always left the house with the assistance of a walking frame.

The last confirmed sighting of her was captured on CCTV as she entered Tesco in Halifax town centre on September 9, 2017.

It is believed she made it back home that day as her belongings and walking frame were found at her home.

Ms Holdsworth was reported missing on September 19 after neighbours grew increasingly concerned they could not reach her.

That leaves a window of 10 days in which she could have gone missing.

Police have undertaken extensive work to search Ms Holdsworth's home and surrounding areas for any signs of her - but this has not provided any answers.

MP and police comment

Labour MP Ms Lynch told the Telegraph & Argus: "I'm concerned and saddened that we still don't know what has happened to Cathryn as a vulnerable older woman more than six years after her disappearance.

"Last year I arranged a Westminster Hall debate in Parliament as a direct appeal to the general public to think back to 2017.
