THERE was a police scene on a Bradford road today after a wanted man was found with a "gun".
Officers from Bradford District Police were on proactive patrols in the Clayton area when they spotted a wanted man this afternoon.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The male was searched and found to be in possession of a potential firearm."
The man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and a robbery.
A police cordon was put in place on Clayton Road while officers investigated.
At least four police vehicles were at the scene, as well as armed officers, police guarding the cordon, and a number of Crime Scene Investigators.
The force spokesperson said: "The potential firearm was deemed to be an imitation and not viable."
The man who was arrested remains in police custody currently.
A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "Bradford District Police were carrying out proactive patrols in the Clayton area of the City when they sighted a wanted male this afternoon.
"The male was searched and found to be in possession of a potential firearm.
"He was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and a robbery.
"He remains in police custody at this time.
"A scene was in place on Clayton Road whilst enquiries were carried out.
"The potential firearm was deemed to be an imitation and not viable."
