A DENTIST has avoided a driving disqualification because he would not be able to run his three dental practices.
Hamid Khan, 40, of Leeds Road, in Mirfield, had no third-party insurance when driving on Bradford Road, in Brighouse on August 1.
The 40-year-old admitted to committing the offence and appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on December 18 to be sentenced.
He was not given a totting disqualification due to his mitigating circumstances.
Court records said: "The defendant would not be able to run his three dental practices and would lose his NHS contract.
"This would result in loss of jobs to his employees and would also impact his patients."
They added that Khan's loss of income would impact "his ability to pay his own household bills and mortgage".
Khan was fined £665 and had to pay a £266 victim surcharge and £110 in court costs.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
