A YOUNG man who was caught driving a luxury car in a city centre without insurance has been handed six points and a huge fine.
Yuzun Ding, 24, of Victoria Road, in Headingley, Leeds pleaded guilty to using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance, at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on August 28 this year.
He was sentenced for the offence at the same court on December 13.
Ding was found to be driving a blue Maserati Quattroporte Saloon in Clay Pit Lane, in Leeds city centre on April 4 this year without insurance, according to court records.
The price for a used version of this Maserati, and of this age, ranges from £14,500 to £45,600 on Autotrader currently.
The court gave Ding six penalty points on his driving licence and he was also ordered to pay £701 in total.
This included a £440 fine, a surcharge of £176 to fund victim services and £85 in costs.
