Part of the M62 motorway network has been closed to drivers after a fatal crash.
Drivers are facing long delays in some stretches - particularly in places like Rochdale in Greater Manchester - as investigation work continues.
One teenager is dead and another has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a car overturned on the M62.
The driver of a grey Vauxhall Astra is believed to have lost control of the vehicle and hit the central barrier while travelling westbound near junction 21 at Milnrow, Rochdale, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The car then crossed into the eastbound carriageway and overturned, a force spokesperson said.
Officers were called to the crash at 10.30pm on Thursday and a 19-year-old man – a passenger in the car – was declared dead at the scene.
The driver, also 19, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and later arrested.
He remained in custody on Friday morning for questioning, police said.
Another passenger in the car was unhurt, GMP said.
It sparked closures between junctions 21 (near Rochdale, Greater Manchester) and 22 (near Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire) from 11pm on Thursday night.
Latest update for M62 traffic
In the latest update, North West Motorway Police said: "M62 at Milnrow is now open Eastbound.
"Patrols just on scene removing the closure on the Westbound.
"All should be re-opened very shortly. Thank you for your patience."
