POLICE say they will be speaking to the person responsible for setting off fireworks in Bradford city centre tonight.
Officers said fireworks were set off on Ivegate at around 6.40pm.
This was captured on CCTV and the person responsible has been identified.
An officer will be speaking to them "shortly".
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 6.40pm today, fireworks were set off on Ivegate in Bradford city centre.
"CCTV has captured this and the person responsible has been identified.
"An officer will be speaking to them shortly.
"Casting fireworks like this in the city is not only illegal, it's a nuisance, anti-social and unsafe."
In a recent column for the Telegraph & Argus, Bradford South Labour MP Judith Cummins described the anti-social and illegal use of fireworks as a "year-round blight for people in Bradford".
She said she is petitioning the Government to lower the legal limit on the volume of fireworks from 120 decibels to 90 decibels.
"This would significantly reduce the disruptive impact and noise footprint of fireworks used anti-socially without affecting their legitimate use," she added.
