A WEST Yorkshire woman is seeking to reunite a "beautiful" dog with her rightful owner.
Caroline Gill is currently providing a temporary home for the female Cocker Spaniel, who was found in Ogden on Wednesday.
Mystery surrounds where the pooch - named Hazel by Caroline - came from, or who her actual owner is.
Caroline said her family took in Hazel - who is microchipped - after the canine was found shivering under a bench in a local garden centre.
She took Hazel to the vet but it turned out the microchip was unregistered.
Caroline said: "I've spoken to the council and I'm allowed to keep her on a 28-day retainer - but obviously I really want to give her back to her rightful owner.
"It's a mystery as to where she's come from and who her owner is.
"I've posted an appeal on Facebook and it's been shared nearly 4,000 times - but her owner hasn't come forward which is strange.
Anyone who thinks they can help can contact Caroline via her Facebook.
Caroline added: "She's a beautiful dog.
"She's happy with us for the time being but I'd love for her to back home for Christmas.
"Somebody must be really missing her."
